Corey Erny is the Medicaid Coordinator at Joseph Legacy Planning, where he walks alongside families navigating the often overwhelming process of Medicaid planning and enrollment. He brings a wealth of experience in managed care, healthcare compliance, and financial services.

In his most recent role as Compliance Officer at a managed care (PACE) organization, Corey led the compliance department, where he monitored and audited the drug programming, ensured HIPAA and privacy compliance, and maintained adherence to the strict regulations of Medicaid and Medicare. He also brings extensive experience serving his community through government-funded support, training, and education programs designed to assist vulnerable and at-risk populations. Over the course of his career in the healthcare and nonprofit sectors, Corey has developed strong expertise in complex documentation and audit readiness at both state and federal levels. His deep understanding of complex government systems, combined with meticulous attention to detail and a compassionate approach, enables him to guide clients with confidence and care as they work toward their goals and peace of mind.

Additionally, Corey’s professional expertise is deeply rooted in personal conviction. His compassion and dedication to serving the aging population stem from the hardships he witnessed his late grandmother endure, as well as the struggles his family faced afterward—dealing with disorganization, confusion, financial stress, and the probate process. That experience instilled in him a strong desire to help families prepare proactively through thoughtful financial and estate planning, guided by both strategy and care.

At the heart of Corey’s work are his faith and family, which fuel his purpose each day. He and his wife are raising five wonderful children, and together they strive to live a simple, humble, and well-ordered life. Outside of his professional work, Corey enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, taking walks along Lake Michigan, hiking, backpacking, and gardening. Whether in his role as a Medicaid Coordinator, financial coach, or community leader, Corey’s ultimate goal is to provide peace of mind to families during some of life’s most challenging seasons.
